Ancient Philosopher Aristotle famously stated that “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” In the context of employment/careers, the “whole” being “you” and “parts” being your skill-set, talents, experiences, and abilities. Each part should be known, acknowledged, and counted by the whole. Then, and only then can their salutary and independent benefits be utilized—as a whole—in your current profession. The sum of the parts is indispensable to the whole—for without each part there is no whole.
The beauty of Aristotle’s declaration is that all your parts adds up to, and here’s the tricky math, something greater than the whole. Meaning, acknowledge your parts (skill-set, talents, experiences, and abilities) and discover how combined they make the best you!
